4-H Summer Camp

West KY 4-H Camp is a 465-acre facility serving 38 counties in Western Kentucky.  Located in Dawson Springs, KY.  Facilities include a 17-acre fresh-water lake, fishing dock, a high and low ropes challenge course, archery & riflery ranges, a swimming pool, multi-purpose buildings, athletic fields, dining hall, and 22 cabins with a total capacity of 486.

Hart County will be attending 4-H Summer Camp July 8th-11th in Dawson Springs, Kentucky at West Kentucky 4-H Camp.

4-H Camp offers water slides, rock climbing walls, zip lines, nature hikes, shooting ranges, horse-back riding, canoeing, kayaking, dancing, crafts and so much more!

The office will begin accepting camp applications on January 11th. Camp spots will be first come first serve. The deadline to sign up is May 31st.

For camp spots to be held a completed application with a $25 deposit must be turned into the office. Reservations over the phone, via e-mail or with incomplete applications will not be accepted.

Camp price is $300 per camper. Balance must be paid in full by June 7th.

Camp is open to all Hart County Youth ages 9-14.( An 8 year old may attend if they are entering 4th grade in the fall of 2024)

Applications for 4-H Camp are available online or may be picked up at the office. Scholarships are available. 

Teen Leaders (16-17): The price for teen leaders is $100. Teens interested in attending as teen leaders may fill out an application. If needed, interviews will take place in March with teens being notified by April if they will be attending.
 

Camp Orientation

Youth are required to attend a camp orientation session with a parent or guardian.

  • May 30th at 4pm
  • May 30th at 6pm
  • May 31st at 4pm

All sessions will be held at the Extension Office.

The mission of Kentucky 4-H Camping is to improve people through intentional life skill development. This will  happen through collaboration with local, state, and national partners, research-based methods and educational programming, service-oriented practices, long-term strategic planning. 

Kentucky 4-H Camping is a non-profit, self-sustaining entity with operating revenues generated from summer camping programs, environmental camping programs, extension sponsored events, camp sponsored events, and non-extension user rentals. Kentucky 4-H Camping owns/leases and operates four camping locations serving 25,000 guests annually.
